Integrations and API: connect Lucanto to your own system

Integrations and the API in Lucanto connect invoicing to your own system. The REST API is available on the Free plan with 100 requests a month, so you can issue invoices straight from your app or shop and keep clients in sync. Higher plans raise the limit to 20,000 requests and add automatic export to accounting.

What integrations and the API make possible

Integrations connect Lucanto to the tools you already use. Instead of retyping, the invoice is triggered by your own system — an online shop, an internal app, a script. Through the REST API you issue an invoice from your own environment, keep clients in sync and pull documents along with their status. Invoicing becomes part of your workflow rather than a separate step.

What the API does in practice:

  • Issue an invoice from your own system. Turn a shop order into an invoice without typing anything by hand.
  • Keep clients in sync. Hold the same contacts and company details in Lucanto and in your app.
  • See your documents. Pull invoices, their status and whatever else you need in your own system.

Endpoints, formats and credentials change over time and differ by plan, so we keep them in the documentation inside the app. If you are not sure what your case needs, use the contact form and we will help you connect.

The REST API is on the Free plan already

The REST API is not reserved for large companies. In Lucanto it is available on the Free plan, with 100 requests a month — enough to try an integration and run a small flow of invoices. When you need a higher limit, you raise it by moving to a paid plan. Exact limits and prices are in the pricing and plans overview; all prices exclude VAT.

Integrations and API by plan

The API request limit grows with the plan — from 100 a month on Free to 20,000 on Business. Technical support for the API is available from Starter upwards. The table below shows what you get for integrations on each plan. Add-on prices exclude VAT.

Export to accounting and connecting your bank

Integrations do not stop at invoices. On PRO and Business you switch on automatic export to accounting, so documents reach your accountant without attachments going back and forth. Accounting records generally have to be kept for a number of years, and on PRO and Business they sit in the digital archive for that whole time, so you can always go back to them.

Bank connection (PSD2)

On PRO and Business you connect a bank account via PSD2 and create payment orders straight from Lucanto. Automatic bank transaction sync is still in progress.

Automatic look-up from public registers (SK, CZ)

The most useful integration is the one you never have to configure. Enter a company name or registration number and Lucanto fills in the address and the rest of the client's details from the public registers of Slovakia and Czechia, and shows immediately whether that client is VAT-registered. It works on every plan including Free, and saves you both the retyping and the typos. You can see it at work on the free invoicing page.

AI agents, and what else is coming

MCP — how you connect Lucanto to AI agents such as Claude or ChatGPT — is already available on every plan. What that means in practice, and what you can ask for, is on the AI agents page. We are still working on some other integrations: automatic bank transaction sync, and e-invoices in the European Peppol format. Until those are finished we mark them "in progress" — until then, count only on what is available today. How we treat the data flowing through the API is covered on the data security page.

Getting started with integrations and the API

  1. Create an account

The REST API is yours on the Free plan — start with 100 requests a month, no card required.

  2. Open the documentation in the app

Once signed in you will find endpoints, formats and credentials. They always match your plan.

  3. Connect your system

From your own app or online shop you call Lucanto — issue the invoice, sync clients and pull documents.

  4. Watch the limit and scale up

Move from 100 to 20,000 requests a month as you need to; on Business you top up with an add-on.

Frequently asked questions about integrations and the API

Is the REST API available on the Free plan?

Yes. The REST API is part of Lucanto on the Free plan already, with 100 requests a month — you do not have to move to a higher plan to connect your own system. If you need a higher limit, Starter has 500, PRO 5,000 and Business 20,000 requests a month. Extra requests can be bought as an add-on on the Business plan.

What are the API request limits per plan?

The Free plan has 100 requests a month, Starter 500, PRO 5,000 and Business 20,000. On the Business plan you can buy extra requests as an add-on — 10,000 for €5 excluding VAT, or 50,000 for €20 excluding VAT. Lower plans do not have that add-on; if you need more, you move up a plan.

Can I issue an invoice from my own system through the API?

Yes, that is the main point of the API. From your own app, online shop or internal tool you call Lucanto and issue the invoice with no retyping; you can also sync clients and download documents. The exact endpoints, formats and credentials are in the documentation inside the app. If you are unsure about scope, get in touch.

Does Lucanto support automatic export to accounting?

Yes, automatic export to accounting is part of the PRO and Business plans, so you hand documents to your accountant without e-mailing attachments back and forth. Accounting records generally have to be kept for a number of years, and on PRO and Business you have them in the digital archive for that whole time.

What is MCP and is it available yet?

Yes, MCP is available today — on Free and on every paid plan, at no extra cost. It is how you connect Lucanto to AI agents such as Claude or ChatGPT: you ask in plain language and they issue the invoice, check payments or manage clients. There is more on the AI agents page. Automatic bank transaction sync and e-invoices in the Peppol format are still in the works.

Do you provide technical support for the API?

Technical support for the API is available from the Starter plan upwards. On the Free plan you have the REST API itself, with 100 requests a month, but not yet technical support for it. If you are working on an integration and need a hand, use the contact form — the API documentation is in the app once you sign in.

Where do I find the API documentation?

The API documentation — endpoints, formats and credentials — is inside the Lucanto app once you sign in. That version always matches your plan. If something does not line up or you need help with a specific case, use the contact form and we will help you connect.
